This is going to be a very important lecture for all of us tonight. Don’t miss hearing Paul Roberts–OM Auditorium at 7:30. Here is a bit more information about Roberts:

Paul Roberts, a journalist whose first book, The End of Oil: On the Edge of a Perilous New World, helped to bring attention to the possibility of peak oil, will be speaking in Brown Auditorium at 7:30 PM on November 8th as part of the Intellectual and Cultural Climate Committee lecture series “Earthly Matters.” His lecture will concentrate on the economic and political implications of a peak in oil production and the potential for alternatives to fill the gap left by declining oil supplies. Roberts’ talk presents a wonderful opportunity for the community to explore the issue of energy. This is an especially important topic given the conflict in the middle east, the prospect of global climate change and the upcoming presidential election.
